Meet our client of the Month - Denise Howell

When Denise Howell set her sights on summiting Kilimanjaro again —years after her first hike — she knew she wanted to feel strong, confident, and capable doing it alongside her children. Working one-on-one with Aidan at Elevate, Denise focused on rebuilding strength and cardio after a hip replacement and a stretch of being less active.

Training together for a year leading up to the adventure, Denise helped drive her own success by staying incredibly consistent on her own. She hiked 2–3 times a week, followed structured home workouts using equipment she already had, and showed up ready to work. Their sessions at Elevate focused on general strength, balance, and injury prevention, with targeted single-leg strength, plyometrics, and high-intensity interval training to improve VO₂ max and reduce the risk of falling on the steep descent.

The result?

“I did the hike in 2004, and I felt better this time — 21 years later and older,” Denise shared. Her successful summit is a powerful reminder that smart training, consistency, and the right coaching can help you do hard things at any stage of life.
